He is an Architect, a graduate of the architecture department in the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University. He is known among his friends as a sophisticated person who has a sense of order and is highly organized. Some say he is intellectual, others say he is sensitive and emotional, but they all agree upon his artistic vision interpreted through his drawings and photography.Traveling and meeting people with different lifestyles and cultures influenced him, his photography, and his perception of his own culture and hometown. He learned to seek beauty in the ordinary, and represent it in a very unique and charming manner with delicate reflections and true contemplative visions. His photography invites people to rediscover their everyday life, and to enjoy and cherish every moment in it yet through wonderful dimensions and mature insights.Adjacently, he is a researcher in HBNRC - Housing & Building National Research Centre, and he often uses photography as a research method.
He was invited to participate with his photography in more than 20 group exhibitions in the last two years. He was also conducted to give a photography course on 2006 about Perception and how we see. He is always seeking truth in his photographs, he never asks for poses, alternatively his entire concentration is manifested in capturing the truest moments, the real feeling and the unparalleled effect of a spontaneous expression.

As quoted from Nour himself how his story with photography began : “Beginnings in Photography are always related to special moments, raw moments.
My beginning with photography was 1995 at the age 12 when I used to go with my father to his fishing trips on the Red Sea, dreaming of those moments after coming back from each trip made it so difficult for me to differentiate between my dreams and what was real, That’s why I decided to save my 20$ birthday money to buy a Kodak 110 camera for the next trip to document the whole experience, and all the feelings attached to it, to say to myself that it was not a dream, it was real.” Nour El Refai.
